This poem is written for all servicemen/women serving in
Afghanistan – no matter what Nationality…
.
British forces, in a foreign land;
Fighting every day!
Striving against – an ‘Unseen’ enemy;
That kills – then melts away.
.
How can a ‘War’ like this be won?
Lives’ – are lost in vain.
Is it not time – to end insanity?
And bring them home again!!!
.
How many more ‘Brave young Men’ must die?
In a war that can’t be won.
How many ‘inconsolable Mothers’….
Will grieve for ‘Beloved Sons’ ?

Why do ‘Political Minds’ not see;
What’s obvious, to you and me?
For I don‘t know of anyone;
Who thinks this ‘Battle’ can be won.

Politicians must bear the ‘Shame’…
Our courageous troops are not to blame!
Their ‘Bravery’ for all to see.
On that – I’m sure we all agree!!!
